Ellie Doney is a sculptor focusing on the real or imagined inhabitants of the subconcious mind, the theatre of dreams, the nature of instinct and the sublime.
Her recent work uses anonymous, iconic images from science religion and the media, poised uncomfortably between myth and history, fantasy and reality, fact and fiction.
Working quickly and instinctively, she produces dark and enigmatic creatures and characters using live and organic, domestic and industrial materials.
"This artist is like a time-traveller, offering us her visions of a toxic future carved from the detritus of modern living." Jessica Lack
